Project Sentinel Aims & Objectives

Phases 1 & 2: Establish joint venture and collaboration agreements between the Partners (complete) and run feasibility study with key market players (underway)

Undertake feasibility and Business Case studies for a Scottish site, but also for the existing Norwegian facility as a demonstration site and early stand-by capability for the Scottish / UK market (available from 2023)

Phases 3 & 4: Develop, design, build and operate Contingency Storage facilities on the east coast of Scotland / UK

Providing cost-effective spares and EMR stand-by capability to the offshore power infrastructure industries (to be operational by 2026)

Phase 5: Establish an Operational Services Agreement between CSS Scotland and REN AS Norway

To share procurement, capacity, EMR capability (vessels, etc.) and stand-by cover between sister facilities across the North Sea

A key theme of the feasibility and business case work will be examining the opportunity to bring economic benefits, jobs and supply chain opportunities to the east coast of Scotland / UK.

Contingency Storage Solutions’ aim is to deliver reports within this year that will highlight these opportunities, in order to then explore the possibility of grant-funding and private investment in the further development of Project Sentinel.
